DMX in talks to fight George Zimmerman in 'celebrity boxing match'
Though not yet finalized, the matchup between George Zimmerman and Earl (DMX) Simmons would be an interesting one.
If the price is right, George Zimmerman could be standing his ground in a “celebrity boxing match” against rapper DMX.
The hip-hop artist was selected out of a pool of more than 15,000 willing fighters to get in the ring with the infamous killer of unarmed black teen Trayvon Martin, celebrity boxing promoter Damon Feldman told TMZ.com.
But DMX’s rep told the Daily News that the made-for-TV mano-a-mano was not a done deal.
“The boxing match between George Zimmerman and DMX is not officially confirmed,” Domenick Nati said in a statement. “No contract or paperwork has been signed or agreed to yet. DMX will release an official statement if and when an agreement is made.”
Feldman said a press conference to announce Zimmerman’s opponent will be held on Tuesday.
DMX, however, couldn’t wait to talk trash at the one-time neighborhood watchman, acquitted by a jury last summer of murder and manslaughter for shooting 17-year-old Trayvon to death as he walked through a gated community in Sanford, Fla., in 2012.
“I am going to beat the living f--- out of him,” DMX boasted, according to TMZ. “I am breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I f--- him right up.”

Rapper DMX (right) has vowed to ‘beat the living f---’ out of George Zimmerman if they fight in a ‘celebrity boxing match.'
But DMZ does face an age differential — he’s 43 and Zimmerman is 30.
In January, Zimmerman said publicly he would take on anyone in a celebrity bout, and that he has been training for months.
