The 23-year-old prospect is accused of breaking into the home of Benjamin Garza and refusing to leave. Garza, who was not home at the time of the incident, explained to reporters that he told the prospect, 'You're lucky I wasn't here because I would've put a bullet between your eyes.
Florida Panthers prospect Scott Timmins has 34 penalty minutes this season for the AHL San Antonio Rampage, but that doesn't include the time he spent in a jail cell Monday morning.
Timmins was arrested Monday after breaking into a family's house while drunk and passing out on their couch, according to a report from San Antonio TV station KENS5.
The 23-year-old prospect is accused of breaking into the home of Benjamin Garza and refusing to leave.
Garza, who was not home during the incident, said that he let the prospect know things would not have gone down so smoothly if he was around.
"You're lucky I wasn't here because I would've put a bullet between your eyes and it would've been over for you," Garza told Karen Grace of KENS5.
The police report states Garza's wife found Timmins on her couch and asked him who he was, to which he responded, "Don't worry about that."
"He was yelling what are you doing in my house," Garza told reporters. "My wife said, 'You need to get the hell out of here.'"
Garza's wife escaped out the back door with her three children and contacted the police.
The police report also added that Timmins was intoxicated to the point where he could not hold his balance and did not remember how he had entered the Garza's home.
Timmins, a sixth-round pick of the Panthers in 2009, made his NHL debut on Feb. 1, 2011. He has appeared in 50 games for the Rampage this season and has nine goals and seven assists.
