Actors Regina King (left) and Malcolm-Jamal Warner in happier times prior to their recent breakup.
Having a lot in common won’t keep a romance going if one partner isn’t “feeling it anymore.”
Malcolm Jamal Warner and Regina King are proof.
The former child stars who dated for over two years have parted ways and it wasn’t pretty.
“He said he wasn’t feeling it anymore,” a source confirmed to Us Weekly.
Apparently Warner brought their relationship to an abrupt end asking King and her young son from a previous marriage to move out of the house they shared.
It’s a far cry from his sweet and loveable Theo Huxtable character from the 1980s hit sitcom “The Cosby Show.”
King also began acting at a young age and starred in “227” around the same time.
“Malcolm and I have a lot in common,” she told Essence in January 2011. “We’ve both been child actors and were also blessed to be raised by incredible mothers who instilled good values in us. Things are maturing nicely.”
That was then and this is now. Today, Warner is a single man and the “Southland” actress is forced to move on.
In happier times, Warner was singing a very different tune while keeping their romance private.
“We like to protect what we have because it’s very special and very precious,” he told BET in October 2011. “But I will say that it’s a relationship that makes all the sense in the world.”
Like with any breakup, King will now have to try and make sense of the reason behind their split.
“She’s still very brokenhearted,” the insider added.
