The best job in Hollywood ... the insurance broker for Tom Cruise movies because the premium has gotta be higher than the Airbus that took Tom for a ride ... ON THE OUTSIDE!

The 52-year-old actor was around the plane, high above the British countryside over the weekend ... shooting a scene for the new "Mission Impossible."

Granted he's wearing a harness, but the plane looks like it's around 5,000 feet in the air. However slow, however low ... it's still has to go fast enough to stay up there.  

Stuntmen gotta eat too, Tom.
