Burrito vending machine arrives in Los Angeles

The first-ever automated burrito dispenser is located in a 24-hour gas station in West Hollywood, Calif., and it will serve up your next meal in one minute.

What could be better than a microwaveable gas-station burrito? How about a microwaveable gas-station burrito that comes out of a vending machine.
A Mobil station in West Hollywood, Calif., is now the home of the world’s first Burritobox, a bright orange vending machine that delivers warm burritos in 60 seconds.

You can’t exactly customize your burrito, but you can choose from five varieties, including shredded beef and cheese, roasted potato, egg and cheese, and chorizo, sausage, egg and cheese.
Each costs $3, excluding tax and additional toppings. A side of sour cream costs an extra 50 cents, while Tabasco sauce is 65 cents and a guacamole is available for 75 cents.

It is possible that these burritos are a step up from the traditional gas-station fare. The company does say on its website that its products are hormone- and antibiotic-free, and that its breakfast version contains cage-

The machine also plays a music video or commercial while you wait patiently for your burrito, according to LAist.
Look for another Burritobox to arrive at the Century City 76 station, also on Santa Monica Blvd., on Jan. 18, the company said.
