Viewers tuning in to the White House website for a 'special video message from the President' saw 'Kid President' climbing up to the podium rather than President Obama.
'It looks like you were expecting somebody else,' said YouTube star Robby Novak, better known as 'Kid President.'
The White House had a little April Fools’ Day fun on Monday with the help of “Kid President.”
The presidential prank began with a Twitter post promising a “special video message from the President” at 10a.m.
But when viewers tuned it to the White House website, they saw YouTube sensation “Kid President” climbing up to the podium instead of President Obama.
“It looks like you were expecting somebody else,” he said. “April Fools on all y’all.”
“Kid President” is nine-year-old Robby Novak, who stars in a series of viral videos urging people to “make the world awesome.” The most famous, “A Pep Talk from Kid President to You” has more than 17 million YouTube hits.
Novak is attending the White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday as a “special guest.”
“I’m Kid President and I hope everyone has an awesome day,” he added on the video. “I made it to the White House! I’m here! Peace!”
